As Long As You Love Me Layout

I have a confession to make. I have Bieber Fever.

So I was perhaps a LITTLE too excited when I saw that my next challenge for Scrap it With a Song was "As Long As You Love Me" by the Biebs. OK, I may have cheered. And I may have been the one to suggest it as an upcoming challenge.

I need help.

Anyways, here's the acoustic JB video (a little more mature, I guess) to get you started!

And here is my layout!

Back in 2010 my then fiance and I took our engagement photos at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. This past summer, my friends and I passed through Union Station to catch a tram to Dodger Stadium (go Blue!). We couldn't resist trying to re-enact one of our favorite pictures from that day. We R Memory Keeper's "Antique Chic" was perfect for this layout. I also used sketch #99 from Sketches in Thyme.

Thanks for reading!

Tea Time! Tea Party Bridal Shower Invitations

Recently I was asked to be the matron of honor in my good friend's wedding and I enthusiastically said yes! One of my duties of course is to host a bridal shower. My friend and I have always talked about throwing a tea party so this was the perfect opportunity to do so!

After hours (and I mean hours) of scouring Pinterest, I had a pretty solid idea of how I wanted this party to be. My first task was to create the invitations. Luckily, I had recently received some products from CutCardStock. I used their A7 envelopes and inserts. I was able to easily run them through my printer and the quality looked great.

I created a pocket using kraft cardstock and cut the notch with a circle punch. I wrapped a doily around the edges and added a thin, pink ribbon. Once I had printed the information on the insert, I mounted it onto matching pink cardstock and cut it into a large tag. I added a small tag with the RSVP information, making it look like a tea bag. As an extra touch, I stamped and embossed a tea pot on the outside of the envelope. I was also able to print the address information on the front of the envelope.

The bridal shower is in one week and I am super excited! Can't wait to share some pictures!

Happy New Year Layout

It's the second Thursday of the month which means it's time for another reveal with Scrap it With a Song! This month is a recap of our favorite songs from 2012. This week's song is absolutely one of my personal favorites. It's "I Will Wait" by the amazing Mumford and Sons.

I was THRILLED when I saw this on my challenge list because I love the song so much but I was a little stumped on how I could turn it into a layout. I decided to go with the word "wait" and turned it into waiting for the New Year. This year my husband and I spent New Years Eve with family and got some long overdue family pictures that night.

I've had small scraps of this Authentique "Journey" line for over a year now and was so happy to use some of it. I also used some of the blue metallic paper from CutCardStock.

The sketch for this layout came from a fun sketch blog called Sketches in Thyme. Check them out for this month's sketch challenge and head over to Scrap it With a Song for some fun song challenges!

Call Me Maybe Dog Layout with Scrap it With a Song

Happy 2013 fellow bloggers! Hope the new year is off to a great start for you! My husband and I took a big step for this year and added this little guy to our family.

Say hello to Shadrach the dachshund!

We adopted him from a wonderful organization here in Southern California called Beagles and Buddies. The first time I met him, there was an instant connection. And it was all because of those eyes!

So when I saw that this week's challenge over at Scrap it With a Song is "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen, I automatically thought of the line, "His stare was holdin'." Here is a great version of the song by the U.S. Olympic Swim Team.

By the way, as annoying as this song was when I first heard it, it is absolutely one of my favorite songs now and I must sing it at the top of my lungs whenever I hear it. Just FYI.

I recently had my first sewing lesson and made my little doxxie a bow tie. The pictures I took show his "holdin'" stare perfectly! I was so glad to finally be able to use this great pet collection by Bo Bunny from a few years ago that I had been hoarding - ahem - saving for a while now.

Head over to the Scrap it With a Song blog to check out the details for participating in this month's challenges. There's also a great prize up for grabs from our own Rock Chick, Dana!

The sketch came from the December sketch challenge by The Sampler Kit Club.
